Town of Webster Land Use Plan

A Land Use Plan is a policy document to help guide future land use and development. Webster’s Land Use Plan presents a vision for the future - with long-range goals and objectives, guidance on land development, suggestions for capital improvements, as well as initiatives for natural resource protection.

Webster’s Land Use Plan is informed by input from its citizens, as well as a selection of documents that provide further information about current and future land uses:

• Webster Heart & Soul (2015) - funded by a planning grant from the Southwestern Commission and the Appalachian Regional Commission, this document seeks to improve walk-ability and community health while also promoting Webster’s history and refining its zoning ordinances

• Winning Webster (2015) - a collaboration with Western Carolina University’s business students, this document is the summary of the feedback gathered from Webster residents through surveys delivered door-to-door in town.

• Jackson County Pedestrian & Greenway Plan (adopted by Jackson County Commissioners, September 2021)
