Jackson County Civic Forum
The Town of Webster and the Jackson County Board of Elections invite you to participate in a Jackson County Civic Forum, a free, family-friendly event celebrating civic engagement, voter participation, and community connection.
A Nonpartisan Event Focused on Our Community
The Jackson County Civic Forum is a nonpartisan community event. Candidates, elected officials, civic organizations, and community groups representing a wide range of political parties, affiliations, and viewpoints are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Nonpartisan does not mean apolitical, nor does it mean that participating candidates or organizations must set aside their political affiliations. Rather, it means that the event itself is not organized, sponsored, or conducted to support or oppose any political party, candidate, or campaign. The Town of Webster and the Jackson County Board of Elections do not endorse participating candidates, organizations, or viewpoints.
The primary focus of the Forum is local civic engagement and issues that directly affect the people and communities of Jackson County. We encourage conversations about matters that local elected officials, government agencies, civic organizations, and residents can meaningfully influence at the local level.
While national and partisan issues may naturally arise in conversations, participants are asked to keep the Forum's focus on local issues, local government, and local opportunities for civic participation. The purpose of the event is to help residents better understand their community, their local government, and the decisions that can directly affect their daily lives.
